The way my mind works

Something that I have seen every day for a while now, has only just sunk in, to my great amusement.

My Firefox bookmarks have grown over the past few years, and the way they are arranged in folders is more a product of time than organisation.

It is for this reason that my BBQ bookmarks are in a folder called BBQ, which is a subfolder of Food.

So far so good.

But Food is a subfolder of Diet – which makes sense in itself.

As does the fact that Diet is a subfolder of Fitness.

But when you look at it as a whole, it does mean that all of my BBQ bookmarks are, ultimately, filed under Fitness.

What can I say, it’s the way my mind works.

A series of steps, each perfectly logical in themselves, but with an illogical final outcome.

Well, with a mind such as yours…

(someone had to say it!) 🙂

But a BBQ on its own doesn’t really mess up your fitness. After all, it’s just one small bloat.

Actually, the direction in which I am moving – going towards more traditional American BBQ (with British influences), replacing grilled burgers and sausages with slow cooked cheap cuts of meat, marinading with wine and vinegar instead of sugar based sauces, using spices and smoke for flavour, instead of charring the outside of the meat – all of this is decidedly healthy, in comparison.

As someone mentioned recently, my general diet for the last few months – high proportion of lean meat, with lots of home-grown salad and hardly anything else – is fairly close to Atkins (but more interesting, I think), and my jeans were telling me last weekend that I *have* lost weight.

So it makes sense after all. Yes, meat which has had most of the fats cooked out of it over a long period is going to be pretty lean and high protein. Perhaps I should get myself one to lose weight *g*…

(Too many of my bookmarks go into a folder called ‘stuff’, and when I come to reorganise them I leave them there because that’s where I now know to find them…)
