“Everyone was so worried about who was going to want to see this movie. I remember them being like, ‘How do you get guys to a ballet movie? How do you get girls to a thriller?’ The answer is a lesbian scene. Everyone wants to see that.”

A short while before Christmas, my combination microwave went up in a puff of smoke – quite literally. There was no actual fire, but a smell of burning, and a minor temporary smog.
I immediately unplugged it, and it has been sitting in the corner waiting for an opportune time to take it to the tip.
Now this was a film I half-expected to be disappointed with, as it has received poor reviews, but I had to see it because I am a big fan of Johnnie Depp.
In spite of the two thoughtless idiots sitting behind me (see earlier post), I absolutely loved it. Which, considering how much the idiots annoyed me, is rather saying something!
I was meeting a friend this evening to see a film, so I thought I would take in the afternoon performance of Tron: Legacy first.
To be honest, it was a bit of a disappointment to me, and yet another reminder that while 3D is great, it is no substitute for an engaging plot. There was a story there, but nothing more taxing than the plot of the original Tron, and after seeing the 3D effects, I got a little bored.
