Glee: The Power of Madonna

I loved Monday’s episode of Glee, especially Sue Syvester’s wonderful version of “Vogue” (showing that actress Jane Lynch has a pretty good voice).

However, I didn’t realise how accurately they had nailed it until I saw this comparison video on YouTube, which, if anything, makes the scene even funnier.

Watch for the look of nervousness on the Gleesters as Sue goes off message, with “Sue Sylvester, dance on air” and “Will Schuester, I hate you”.

The one (minor) disappointment of the episode is that they seem to have entirely missed the point of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin”, having it sung by the three virginal characters. In the song, the singing character is meant to be anything but a virgin – the whole idea is that her new love makes her “feel shiny and new, like a virgin, touched for the very first time”. i thought everyone realised that by now, but apparently not.
