As Close As Night To Day

Words & Music: Chris Malme
Inspired by the motion picture "Ladyhawke"

My lady comes here in the night when I am gone,
And it makes me sad, it makes me sad,
You may have seen her, but she never stays for long,
And it makes me sad, it makes me sad.

For come the dawn, and the morning light,
'Tis the time for her to fly againg.
And every morn, when I see her flight,
Oh it makes me cry again.

You saw my lady and you say she spoke of me,
Well that makes me glad, that makes me glad,
Recall her words pray and repeat them here for me,
Though it may make me sad, may make me sad.

Tell me true, did it make her smile
When you told her of the words I said?
Or did she curse, rue the day we met,
And wish that we were dead?

By day my Ladyhawke is always at my side,
And that makes me glad, that makes me glad,
But come the the darkness and it's with the wolf she'll ride,
And that makes me sad, that makes me sad.

To be so close, yet so far apart,
As the night is from the day.
But even though it may break our hearts,
    Together we will stay.

My lady comes here in the night-time when I'm gone,
And it makes me sad, it makes me sad,
It makes me sad, it makes me sad,
It makes me
Sad.
