After The Dawn
Words & Music: Chris Malme
Inspired by the "Before The Dawn" series of songs, with a crossover appearance of Phoenix, from the Marvel "X-Men" comics
I am a man who to greatness aspires
To claim the throne is my only desire
And so I stand here, before the tower,
To fool the reavers and channel their power
Before me you'll cower
I am the Warlord
Chorus Will we see this land reduced to waste
Will we live to see another morn
Will we live to hear the story's end
After the dawn?
Listen well all you mortal men
See your petty struggles in a different light
For who knows how the story ends
After the dawn!
I am the reaver, a bearer of fire
To plunder this land is my only desire
And so I stand here, before the tower,
To delve its secrets and learn of its power
This will be my hour
I am the High Priest
Chorus
I am the heir, the son of my sire
To avenge his death is my only desire
And so I stand here, before the tower,
No warlord or reaver will ever gain power
Over the tower
I am the Prince
Chorus
I am a goddess of fury and fire
To feed my hunger is my only desire
And so I stand here, upon your tower
Oh foolish mortals who lust after power
Your world I'll devour
I am Phoenix
And with a word the land was laid to waste
And the sun exploded with a blinding light
No-one lived to hear the stories end
After the dawn.
So listen well all you mortal men
See your petty struggles in a different light
For who knows how the story ends
After the dawn!
